Remote but Close

The Faroe Islands might give the impression of being a distant destination due to the far north placement and the separation of the sea. In many ways it could be considered remote – especially when having in mind the fascinating traditions still present and visible today, which in contrast to Europe’s big cities and the Faroe Islands’ otherwise modern society give the destination that certain touch of authenticity.

It takes, however, only 2-3 hours from mainland Europe to get here.

And there is less than 1 hour drive with captivating panoramic mountain and sea views from the airport to your accommodation.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The Faroe Islands are, like the other Nordic countries, a very modern society with all necessary facilities and excellent infrastructure.

Here, we can offer you an exciting variety of meeting options from top-notch 5-star conference facilities hosting up to 600 visitors to smaller board meeting set-ups with the most magnificent panoramic views.

Most hotels are situated in the capital and range from stunning 4-star hotels with exceptional city and sea views to great 3-star city center hotels and a very nice and elegant waterfront boutique hotel. In the beautiful and colorful outskirts of the islands you will in addition find enjoyable and atmospheric village hotels.

The capital of Tórshavn with its 20.000 inhabitants is one of the smallest in the world, yet the city is magic and has everything a capital needs – from designer shops to world class sports facilities and relaxing spa experiences to cozy cafes, a delicious culinary scene, live music bars and vivid discotheques.

Due to the good network of roads, tunnels, sub-sea tunnels and bridges it is fast to travel from one end of the Faroe Islands to the other. From the capital to the most northern village, it only takes about 1 hour. This allows our guests to spend less time on travelling and more time on what is important.

On the other hand, if you want to make everything a bit more adventurous, you can go on a boat trip or helicopter tour to one of the smaller, less accessible islands and combine it with fishing, diving, bird watching or a grotto concert.

Activities

In the Faroe Islands almost anything is possible.

The grand, dramatic mountains and cliffs together with the playful and vivid ocean and the long fjords lay the perfect fundament for active or extreme activities such as hiking, cycling, diving, kayaking, rappelling, horseback-riding or RIB-boat sailing.

The Faroe Islands also have that perfect tranquility, which you only find in small societies where nature prevails. This makes it the perfect place for gathering your thoughts and dive into some yoga-activities, meditate in the mountains, sail with a schooner, relax at the spa or to try out some traditional handcrafting such as knitting.

If you are looking for team-building activities, we can also arrange events such as a rowing competition in traditional Faroese rowing boats, treasure hunts with different themes, pub or shop crawls - just to mention a few.
