About the ship Dragin KG212
Dragin was built in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 1945, and the year after it was sold to a local in the village Leirvík in the Faroe Islands. It was originally used for fishing, but in 1991 the ship changed registration, and was sold to the Dragin Foundation. The ship was totally renovated in 1992, and there was only the orignally hull remaining. The ship-crew called ‘Dragamenninir’ rebuilt the ship, and in 2003 they finshed the project and the result is the beautiful and charming ship we know today. It has since been mainly used as a school-ship and for people with a generel interest in faroese sailing.
