Conference Dinner at Roykstovan / NUSCT
Tuesday 3rd June 19:15-22:00 at Roykstovan, Kirkjubøur
Feast in Historic Surroundings
Experience an unforgettable evening in the historic setting of Kirkjubø. Guests will be welcomed at the harbor before being guided to the venue, where a brief historical introduction to the site will be given.
The evening begins with a traditional Faroese Durasnaps upon entering the atmospheric old farm, Roykstovan. The first course features Faroese salmon paired with a glass of white wine, followed by a main course of locally raised lamb from the farm, served with seasonal potatoes and vegetables, accompanied by red wine. To finish, a rhubarb trifle is served alongside coffee or tea and a glass of port wine.
An evening of history, flavors, and Faroese hospitality awaits.
Venue
The farmhouses at Heima á Garði in Kirkjubø date back to the Middle Ages and are truly unique. From 1105 to 1557, they served as an episcopal residence. These historic buildings have been our family home for 17 generations, making them an integral part of our heritage.
Heima á Garði is also home to Kirkjubøargarður and the extraordinary Roykstovan, which dates back to approximately 1050. It is of the utmost importance that our guests treat these ancient buildings with care and respect, preserving them for future generations.
Roykstovan is not a public museum or a conventional restaurant. Instead, it operates under the concept of Heimablídni, offering an intimate and authentic dining experience in a private and historic setting.
